Hello readers of New England Nightmare, the year of no comic updates is not because I’ve lost interest in working on NEN, I just have been thinking hard about it.

The main issue of my first attempt at NEN was that I had changed too much along the way, causing the early chapters to not line up well with what I had wanted to make upon entering the second act. This effect would only get worse if I continued putting chapters out and retconning shit, so I knew it was time to start over with a better foundation. Progress will continue being slow as I want to write the whole story before I put anything out.

I’ll likely keep uploading art here every now and then and change the character pages with updated info. I like having a public spot to learn about NEN even if the comics on here aren’t up-to-date.

Here are some important changes to anticipate: -NEN no longer takes place in the mid 80s. There are no given dates, as Palindrome doesn’t need to be confined by time. A version of the Internet exists and will be used by characters.

-NEN will be told in one medium, a visual novel. It will most likely be released in 3 parts.

-A few characters have been removed, two merged, and some new ones are being written in.

-Zack will have much more focus now, having his own storyline separate from Emery’s.

Also do not worry about losing the old version of NEN, all of the old chapters will forever be on this site.
