“Today the boss asked me to describe myself, it had me thinking about who I really am. I haven’t written anything about myself since my adolescent years, maybe this will be fun to look at when I’m older.
I’m back in Munich, but I’ve been thinking of going abroad again. College was a good time, nobody there had met a German before… I got asked a lot of questions. I spent most of my time in the library and the computer lab. I don’t think I made any companions, but I've never been too concerned about that.
Mama keeps asking me about women when I visit, she says at this rate I’ll try to marry an IBM! She’s joking, but that would be so much easier. I feel embarrassed to say I’ve never had a girlfriend, I’ve never even held hands with a girl. I’m waiting for one to ask me. I don’t know how to make conversation, that’s always been my weakness.
There’s a beautiful machine at work, the newest model I’ve seen. I helped hook it up. When it turned on, I felt this wonderful feeling. A warmth in my chest, a feeling the future will be so bright.
I got to meet so many new, brilliant people today, I can’t wait to work with them. I hope our technology will make the world better to live in.”
